Apology from alleged poppy tweeter

Michael Loftus, the SNP candidate who was at the centre of a controversy over a number of abusive tweets regarding people displaying poppies has issued an apology

In a tweet directed to myself, and he allegedly sent abuse to he said:

“Just noticed your message. Just to say my account was compromised and a few similar tweets were sent out…I have nothing against the Army, or the union flag. Please accept my heartfelt apology.”
